Pedro E. Rios. Jr. of West Roxbury passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Friday, July 31, 2020. Born in Dorado, Puerto Rico on September 19, 1965, he was the beloved son of Pedro E. Rios, Sr. and Altagracia Ortiz. As a child, he moved to Boston, and he has been employed at Mass. College of Art for the last 24 years.
Pedro was the loving husband of Mina Kalemkeryan Rios and devoted father of Maximo Rios. He is also survived by his four other children, Pedro Rios II, Kathy, Jessica and Jennifer; his siblings, Rosa Fuentes of Mountainside, NJ, Luz Paulicelli of Raynham, Diana DelVillar of Brockton, Wallis Vega of Brockton, Juan Rios of Brockton and Jossie Wedgeworth of Mattapan; and several grandchildren.
Pedro’s warmth and kindness were unmatched. He was a kind soul who loved everyone without judgement and led by example. He was always there to extend a helping hand and bring laughter and happiness to everyone he knew. Pedro loved traveling, especially to Turkey, and taking ski trips to Vermont. He also enjoyed cooking traditional Puerto Rican food for friends and family, and was especially famous for his world famous pancake brunches.
A car enthusiast, Pedro spent hours tinkering with his car to improve its performance. Maximo, his nine-year-old son, carries on his father’s love of cars.
A graveside service will be held this Friday, August 7th at 12pm at Forest Hills Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
