Margaret Donato, 90, of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on November 27, 2020, after a battle with cancer. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Domenic Donato and her son James Donato. Margaret is survived by her siblings Theresa Geraghty, Ina McGrenery, and John Cooke; by her daughter, Anne Paul as well as her grandchildren, Robin Lucius and her husband Robert, Melissa Burgess, Rebecca and Robert Long; Patrick Donato; Michael Donato and Christine; Jenny and Matt Poisson, great grandchildren Sarah, Zachary, Aydan, Lexi, Gabrielle, Christopher, and Charlotte, Patrick, Alexandria, and nieces and nephews in Ireland.
Margaret was born in Galway, Ireland and emigrated to America (Boston, MA) in 1961. She eventually settled into Hyde Park after marrying Domenic, the love of her life. Over the years, they would often travel back to Ireland. Margaret will be remembered for her endless love, sense of humor, great intelligence, independence, and profound faith in God.
Visiting hours will be held at Carroll-Thomas funeral home, 22 Oak St, Hyde Park, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 9:00 – 10:45am. Please wear a mask and respect social distancing. The funeral will follow beginning at 11am at The Most Precious Blood Church 25 Maple St, Hyde Park, MA 02136. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in her memory.
