Katherine E Scopa

Katherine E. Scopa, recently of Medway, formerly of Hyde Park, passed peacefully on October 6th surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88.  Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Joseph M. Scopa, Sr.  Devoted mother of Joseph M. Scopa, Jr. and his wife Julie of Medway, Paula Scopa of Roslindale, Brian Scopa of Florida, and the late Gina M. Scopa of Hyde Park.  Cherished sister of her twin brother, the late Joseph Russo, and the late Marie Kolb.  Loving “Nana” of Angelina and Christian, with whom she cherished dearly in her last years, as well as her grandson William who she adopted and raised. 

Katherine and her husband devoted their lives to fostering and raising children and are blessed to be called “Mom” or “Nana" by the dozens of children they helped raise. 
In her final 16 years, Katherine spent 5 days per week attending an adult day social program at the Rogerson Center for Adult Health in Roslindale where she made many friends and enjoyed music, bingo, and other fun activities.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Rogerson for the amazing care and support they provided.  
 Visiting hours will be held Wednesday morning from 9-10:30AM at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church, Hyde Park at 11AM.  Interment at New Calvary Cemetery.
