Karen Hadayia Obituary

Visiting hours will be held Monday, March 4th morning from 10-12 at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park.  Interment at the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.  Relatives and friends invited.

Karen Hadayia, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born on September 20, 1958, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, a passion for travel, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.

Karen was the cherished wife of the late Nusray Hadayia, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship after marrying in 1977. Together, they traversed the globe, creating memories that Karen held dear to her heart after Nusray's passing in 2013. Her role as a mother was one Karen embraced with her whole being. She was a guiding force in the lives of her children, Ted Hadayia and his wife Damaris of Framingham; Robert Hadayia and his wife Marissa of Norfolk; Todd Hadayia and his wife Michelle of Worcester; and her sons Dean, Mark, James, and the late Richard and Judy Hadayia. Each of her children inherited her warmth and compassion, carrying on her legacy in their own lives.

Born to Barbara Douglas and the late Ted Douglas, Karen was a supportive and loving sister to Robert, James, Sandra, and Tina Douglas, all of Florida, and she is now reunited with her late siblings Anne Ryan, Edward Douglas, Barbara Douglas, and Janie Douglas. Her role as an aunt was just as important to her, and she is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, all of whom felt the impact of her kind and loving nature.

Karen's eight grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her gentle guidance and unconditional love helped shape them into the individuals they are today, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light in their lives.

Those who knew Karen understood that her kindness extended beyond her family. She was a friend to many, always ready to lend an ear or offer support. Her ability to make everyone around her feel loved and valued was a rare gift that will be deeply missed.

Throughout her life, Karen's interests reflected her joyous and adventurous spirit. Traveling with Nusray brought her great happiness, and she often recounted tales of their adventures with a twinkle in her eye. Her stories, filled with laughter and love, will be retold and cherished by those who loved her.

Karen's legacy is one of love, kindness, and family. She was the heart of her family, a friend to all, and a woman whose presence was a comfort and a joy. As we say goodbye to Karen Hadayia, we celebrate the life she lived and the many lives she touched. Her memory will be held in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to the love she shared so freely.

In honoring Karen's life, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of human connection. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her story will be told with love and admiration for generations to come.
