Janet Ruth Troiani

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Ruth Troiani (Hammond), age 80, of Westwood, MA. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after battling lung cancer. Janet was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Born on July 3, 1940 in Boston and was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Donald Troiani. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s electrical contracting business. Janet played a very active role at St. Denis Catholic Church working in both the rectory and CCD office, as well as being a Eucharistic minister and lector. Her closest friendships were with “Club” and she cherished every minute spent together. She was fond of traveling and exploring new places all over the world, as well as being a reading enthusiast.

Beloved mother to her daughters, Allison Troiani (Tim Acuff) of Quincy, and Sandra MacKinnon (Troiani) of Norwood. Adored Nana to her grandsons, Sean and Brian MacKinnon and Giovanni Ruffin. Janet is survived by her siblings Thomas Hammond and wife Virginia of Halifax, MA; Shirley Hammond of Lake Wales, FL; Maria Guerriero and her husband Anthony, of Hudson, NH; and the late Donald Hammond. Janet was blessed with a large close-knit family and many dear friends. Her loved ones will miss her for her kind heart, quiet strength, great advice, lively spirit and strong spiritual convictions.

In her memory, donations may be made to St. Denis Catholic Church, 157 Washington St, Westwood, MA 02090. Considering current health restrictions, Janet’s family will be holding private services.
