Florence L (Souther) Carroll

Florence L. Carroll age 91 of Marshfield died peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Carroll.  Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who made everyone around her feel special.

Born April 6, 1929 in Boston she was the beloved daughter of the late Helen Tammaro and William Souther.  Florence worked many years for Boston’s Local 26.  Once she left Local 26, Florence worked at various positions up to the young age of 83.  Florence loved family time, taking trips to casinos and cruising. When she did allow herself a little quiet time she enjoyed sitting and looking out at the ocean at Brant Rock in Marshfield.    

Florence was the loving and cherished mother of Diane and husband David Gillis, Scituate, William and wife Diane Carroll, Randolph, Kathy and husband Michael Nasson, Walpole, son-in-law Richard Barry and his late wife Patricia Carroll Barry, St Lucie, Florida.    She adored and was the proud nanabanana of her grandchildren Mark, AvaRose, Charlotte, the late Samuel Rosenberg and Kimberly Carroll.  Florence leaves her sisters Adeline Tamarro, the late Marie Maney, and her late long-time friend Theodore Caparrel.

Florence will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to enjoy her wonderful sense of humor, special smile, caring, guidance, patience and understanding.
