Charles A. Colburn of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on July 12, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 79.
Born in Boston MA in 1941, he was the first child of Harry Colburn and Elinor (Perry) Putnam.
Charlie was a longtime Supervisor of the Building and Structures Division for the city of Boston. He was a proud and active member of AA where he celebrated 47 years of sobriety and acted as a mentor and friend for many in the community.
Charlie was an avid hunter and long time member of G.O.A.L and the NRA. He passed his love and appreciation of these activities to his children.
Cherished brother of the late Louise P. (Colburn) Ackerly and Deborah P. (Colburn) Strout of Gorham, ME.
Devoted father of Charles A. Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Foxboro, Erik and his wife, Victoria, of Monaca, PA, Jennifer Logan and her husband, Brian, of Hyde Park, and the late Jason J. Colburn.
Loving “Grand-Pa" to Charlie, Danielle, Jason, Erik, Gabriella and Brian. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday morning from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK, followed by a service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at the family's request.
